I spent a few days at this hotel and found it to have a traditional charm with friendly and welcoming staff. While the rooms need some updating, they were basic, clean, and comfortable, making me wish for more stays like this after soulless chain hotels. However, the lack of information about the hotel's amenities was a downside.
The hotel offers a nice room with an excellent view to Abbey but could benefit from improvements like addressing the dirty carpet and black mold issue. The service is very friendly and accommodating, making my stay comfortable. The location is a great base for exploring 'Old England' and nearby attractions, despite some maintenance issues. The dining experience was satisfactory but could use more staff and higher food quality.
The hotel's location is perfect, just opposite the ancient and intriguing Dorchester Abbey, great for exploring Oxfordshire. While the rooms could use some updating and were a bit dark, our stay was made pleasant by the helpful and friendly service.
